This year, in the March issue of My Career magazine, we decided to introduce you a bit of our male presence in the office. He is Archimidis, currently a Team Lead of the Support team at CXG.
I am... Archimidis - greek by nationality but living and working in Bulgaria for the last 10 years. At CXG I started as a Supplier Support with English, and 5 years later I am currently a Team Lead of the same team.
The most interesting thing about my profession is ... working with different people and characters. CXG is a multinational company and as a lead it is very important for me to find a way to communicate with every employee individually and to do it every day, and this should not affect either the work or the team because in our sphere the most important thing is the teamwork.
My first impressions of CXG were ... created by a friend. I was lucky to be recommended by one of my best friends and when I came here he was the only familiar face. However, this was not a problem for me, because I did not feel like an outsider even for a minute - I was accepted very well from the whole team and when you are a foreigner it does not always happen so easily. When I started, the team was about 25 people and over 10 of them were foreigners. Even many of the Bulgarians who are working here have graduated or worked abroad. All together, the environment is very friendly. My friend was also very happy with both of the team and the management. And when an employee is happy at work, he has no doubt that he should recommend his friends. Honestly, a large number of our employees now are reffered by a friend just like I am.
My main responsibilities are ... to allocate tasks and schedules and to be useful to my team with whatever I can. The work is dynamic and often changes, so it is important to deal with justice. Setting up the schedule on the other hand is extremely important so that every customer's issue is resolved.
The most important skill is ... communication. And also the ablility to adapt to all types of people who are working here - many of them are very young, still students and also there are people with families and everyone has their own stuff to deal with. Therefore, it is necessary to find a way for colleagues to accept you as a friend with whom they can share and be able to rely on, because when they are happy and calm, the work goes smoothly.
What is challenging is ... the dynamic. Every day I learn something new, and work lessons are always useful in life. I am trying to adjust to the environment and I believe that it is the key to growth.
Young people who are currently looking for a job ... should not be afraid of challenges and risks. Being afraid of failure is the biggest mistake of the youth. They should always try, especially when it comes to learning new things. It is very important at first to find a job that will be the smooth transition between life without the many responsibilities they have had so far and real life with its difficulties. That is why young people must set goals that must be realistic and do everything they need to achieve them.
