He is one of the most communicative people in our office - always smiley and ready for a chat. He is currently an Application Support Analyst within the TechOps team and he loves joining our corporate activities such as table tennis, football and volleyball.
Dear readers, we are happy to introduce to you...
I am… Slavcho - born in Botevgrad, but I came to study in Sofia 9 years ago and I've lived here since then. I started my first job shortly after I became a student. I am a sports person and I do not like to lose! Years ago I played basketball and football, and now I am still doing it for fun. I love travelling, although I rarely have free time to do it. I do not have a favorite destination, but if I have to choose it will be something outside of Bulgaria, because I like discovering different cultures. I am keen on cars, I really enjoy repairing my own car by myself. I recently bought a motorbike and soon I will probably be busy with motorcycle tuning. I have traveled over 900 km in a day just for a ride in Varna, so that's something I'm keen on too.
I started at CXG in 2015 as a Technical Support. My first impression was tottaly wrong. The information I've got from my research was not correct. Overall my expectations were quite different and when I heard more about the position everything seemed abstruse. Of course, it's harder to make a decision when you don't have a friend who works there and could give you more insights. But when my first working day came everything started to make sense and looked really promising. At first I did not like the location - yes, we are a step away from the subway, but Lyulin is not so communicative place. However, I loved my colleagues - everyone was trying to help me and I'm pretty talkative and managed to find my way with almost everyone. What made me a very good impression were the additional benefites, which are still very good and the company is constantly trying to build them up. It takes a lot of time to realize the pros and cons of a company, but now I am sure I've come to the right place.
The most interesting thing in my profession is... I learn something new every day from a technical point of view, I am upgrading myself at coding, I can develop my SQL knowledge - we write procedures and functions, and every day you learn something new about the processes and products we offer. Every day is a challenge.
The most important skill for my position is... You have to be hard-working and not only doing the bare minimum, apart from that everything can be learned and nothing is impossible. Yes, the position is very technical and you must have some technical knowledge, but it can be acquired, as it happened to me. At my first position here I did not have enough knowledge, but I’ve learned many things here and managed to move in the TechOps team. But above all, you must be persistent and purposeful.
My main responsibilities are... Everything we do on a daily basis is essential. Perhaps the most important thing about the team is the influence over our new agents. How would we train them and what habits they will pick up - it always reflects on the whole team now and in the future. Our primary function is to teach them to be self-sufficient, but also to be willing to help.
What challenges me everyday is... getting up early in the morning. And I am happy that this team also offers late shifts which are good for people like me. Coding is also a challenge. It makes me dive deeper in the field, and I even attended a course at one of the academies in Sofia - Fundamentals of programming to facilitate the process of getting into work. However, coding is not my thing and for now I am not looking to become a programmer. And I'm too talkative to get into such a team. That's what I like in my current work - the blend of technically focused work and the level of communication here.
My most interesting case in work... is interesting just for me and the colleagues in my team.
My biggest achievement on a personal level is... The fact that I have been independent for now 9 years. Since I came to Sofia I have gone through many different jobs, but I have always wanted to be independent. So far, I have accomplished two of the three things I've set for myself in the near future and I'm proud of that.
And in a professional level... Definitely my current position is a pride, because when I joined the company, to me this team seemed to be unreachable.
If there was a store which sells human qualities I would buy... Well, I don't want to be so naive. I definitely trust people a lot, and I would like to change that, as sometimes it is too disappointing for me.
I dream of... living somewhere on the shore, but rather outside of Bulgaria.
Young people who are currently looking for a job should look for... an interesting and enjoyable role, not one that just fills their time or brings them income, because in only a few months they will get tired of it. They will start coming with reluctance to work and that will lead to them not being helpful to the team and to themselves.
I'm glad I came here because the company offered me a lot of opportunities, a multicultural environment, growth, development and social benefits. Till recently I was part of the social committee and I know the company from the inside, so I can say that I've witnessed CXG works for its employees, doing everything possible for us to feel good, though many people tend to take this for granted.
How would you arrange the following things in importance to you: work essentials, team, management, payment... Management, work essentials, team, payment.
